The Medicine Garden is a newly renovated Wellness Centre in a 109-year old building in the quaint hillside, heritage town of Ladysmith BC on Vancouver Island. It’s just a quick drive from Nanaimo or Duncan, and makes a fantastic day trip from Victoria. This building is right at the beach entrance, has a sunny southern exposure, and is right around the corner from their historic 1st Avenue.
We are an Alternative Medicine & Natural Health Clinic/Shoppe offering a variety of Complementary and Alternative therapies. The Shop has a variety of metaphysical gifts and herbal medicine. Come and enjoy one of the many Spa and Healing services, or spend some time finding the perfect gift for yourself or someone else. Walk-ins welcome, but we do recommend you book an appointment.

I love the energy in your shop, welcoming and warm. The fragrance (in store) was also appropriate, not too strong, but calming. I have allergies, so this was great. I really appreciated the accommodation of my request for mini readings on Saturday. The offer to come to our group (in Duncan) or have my group come to you was also very appreciated. I was disappointed to hear Frances was not available for our reading, however Connor more than made up for it!! Again, I appreciate that you all were so accommodating… Also, I love the website, without it I would have missed this amazing experience!! I guarantee I will tell a few friends about this fantastic place and I am sure one or all of us will be back….

NEPTUNE KRILL OIL - 30 Softgels
Each softgel contains:
Neptune Krill Oil (NKO TM) (500 mg)
Characteristics and function:
- Three times more bioavailable than fish oil
- Almost exclusively EPA and DHA, found in a phospholipid form, instead of a triglyceride form
- Regulates blood lipids and blood glucose three times better than fish oil
- Contains an antioxidant (astaxanthin) that is more bioavailable than others and three hundred times stronger than Vitamin A and Vitamin E and 48 times higher than fish oil
- Strengthens brain and nerve tissue with high levels of phospholipids, especially phosphatidylcholine (PC),phosphatidylserine (PS), phatidylinositol and sphingomyelin

Krill (Euphasia superba) is a very small Antarctic shrimp-like zooplankton. It is one of the most abundant biomasses on the planet, producing the highest quality omega-3 (EPA-DHA) oils. It also has a very high antioxidant property. This oil has been extensively researched.
The naturally high levels of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids found in krill oil has propelled this oil into the forefront of recent nutritional topics. EPA and DHA are the polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) that have been identified as the main factors that contribute to the health benefits associated with omega-3 oils. Both these fatty acids are vital for optimal health. DHA is a component of brain phospholipids and has been shown to be important for brain function and vision. The phospholipid make-up of krill oil closely resembles that of human brain phospholipids, leading to the idea that krill oil phospholipids are easily incorporated into brain cells and supportive of brain function. EPA, on the other hand, has been attributed largely to anti-inflammatory pathways important in the prevention and mitigation of the components of cardiovascular disease.
Directions:
One to two softgels a day taken with breakfast or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.

Characteristics and function:
Kidney-Bladder (K-B) Herb is an excellent formula for cleansing and
building the kidneys and bladder. It has been found helpful in the
prevention of kidney stones as well as for decreasing the recurrence of
bladder infections (cystitis). Is and excellent herb for use during a UTI (Bladder Infection), as it will kill the bacteria, as well as soothe the inflamed areas.
Uva-ursi contains a chemical called arbutin that changes into the urinary antiseptic hydroquinone in the kidneys thus aiding to rid the urinary tract of infection. Uva ursi is also an excellent diuretic, cleansing the kidneys and bladder.
It is also considered superior in dissolving sediment such as sand, gravel and even stones. Juniper berry acts as a urinary antiseptic as well as a diuretic. Buchu is specifically for the prostate. Parsley, a mild and soothing diuretic, is also one of the most nutritious herbs, being high in vitamins A and C. Marshmallow soothes the mucous membranes so as to avoid irritation from concentrated urine or calculi. Ginger is used to stimulate peripheral circulation and to avoid gripping in the urinary tract.
Directions:
One or two tablets, two to three times a day.
NOTE:
As Uva ursi is most effective in an alkaline urine, it is suggested that an alkaline diet be followed when using this formula.
