Characteristics and function:
Designed for women, this formula is used to correct hormonal imbalances such as those occurring at puberty, after pregnancy, menopause, upon the cessation of birth control pill usage or after a hysterectomy. It has also been found to be very useful for alleviating discomfort due to menstrual cramps and reducing edema and depressions associated with the menstrual cycle. It may also strengthen the female organs. Femaherb has also been used for hormonal irregularities in men and is especially effective in the first stages of hormone-related balding.
Dong quai, sometimes considered "female ginseng," has many positive effects on the female system. In Asia, it is commonly used for menstrual irregularities, for menopause, for recuperating after childbirth and has been shown to be very helpful for women coming off hormone replacement therapy. Dong quai is more than its reputation as a "female herb" though. It is quite appropriate for building up the system after being sick, fortifying the blood and enhancing metabolism and oxygen utilization in the liver. Dong quai has also been shown to slow down male pattern baldness, to strengthen the heart, prevent atherosclerosis, prevent lipid deposits, function as an antibacterial agent and work as a calming agent. Black cohosh and blue cohosh help support the nervous and glandular system. Both of these (along with blessed thistle) are emmenagogues used both to buildup and regulate the female reproductive system

Characteristics and function:
This formula, with Siberian ginseng as the major ingredient, has been used for stress (especially adrenal stress), energy and to "chill" a person out, like a jazz musician would. It has a combination of Asian and Western herbs in a very useful blend.
Siberian ginseng (Eleuthrococcus senticosus) is a great energy herb, enlivening but calming at the same time. It doesn't have some of the over stimulating effects that can be found in Asian ginsengs. This herb is a true adaptogen, helping the system cope with a large range of stressors be they environmental, biological, personal or chemical.
Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) is a great tonic, especially for the immune system. American ginseng is similar to Asian ginseng, but is gentler, like Siberian ginseng. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a very good calming mushroom, which also aids in nerve strength, insomnia and the immune system.

Characteristics and function:
Di-Gest is a capsulated formula of digestive enzymes and HCL (hydrochloric acid) that aids in digesting food. The specially prepared capsule ensures the various digestive aids are released in the proper environment; i.e. HCL (hydrochloric acid) in the stomach and pancreatin in the duodenum.
Glutamic acid HCL and betaine HCL are two forms of hydrochloric acid that are properly buffered to aid in increasing stomach acidity for the first stages of protein digestion. Chlorella is a single-cell green algae owing its name to its extremely high chlorophyll content. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Of primary interest is chlorella's growth factor (referred to as CGF), an extract from chlorella that has significant antibiotic and immuno-stimulatory effects. While chlorella has excellent nutritional qualities, it is the health-giving properties that arouse scientific interest. One barrier to chlorella's use as food is its tough cell wall, which makes complete digestion difficult. Our chlorella comes from a superior genetic strain that has naturally soft cell walls.
